Wells Fargo Donates $10,000 to Meals on Wheels Collin County
Funds will support home delivered meals for seniors across the county
MCKINNEY, Aug 15, 2018 – Wells Fargo & Company announced today a $10,000 donation to Meals on Wheels Collin County.
Meals on Wheels is committed to assisting local seniors to remain independent in their homes, while promoting socialization, and preventing premature institutionalization through several ancillary programs including their “Home Delivered Meals” service. A check presentation ceremony took place at the Bobby Lyle Billy Gamble Scouting Center located at 5600 US Highway 75 South, Fairview.
“The mission of Meals on Wheels Collin County is to combat hunger and isolation in disabled and older adults. We are only able to continue this mission through generous donations from our donors and partners,” said Zella Tyson, chief operating officer, Meals on Wheels Collin County. “We are overjoyed to have Wells Fargo join our family. Their donation of $10,000 can help us provide 2,000 meals to the seniors of Collin County, keeping them independent and healthy in their homes, families, and communities.”
Funds from Wells Fargo will support Meals on Wheels Collin County “Home Delivered Meals”, which helps ensure that hot nutritional lunchtime meals are provided to the homebound, elderly and disabled citizens of Collin County. All meals are delivered by trained volunteers who are dedicated, to not only delivering well-balanced meal, but also a friendly smile and the opportunity to socialize.
