Today, MOWCC was blessed by the heart of young Elijah, an eight-year-old, fourth grader. He and his family participated in our Harvest Box program this year, donating two boxes. Upon seeing the flyer regarding our seasonal programs, Elijah informed his parents that he not only wanted to be involved in the Harvest Boxes, but he also wished to participate in the Secret Santa program. This young man worked hard, performing household chores, to earn the money he used to purchase a very special gift for a senior. When asked why the Secret Santa program was important to him, Elijah replied, “I like to buy presents for people and didn’t know people couldn’t buy presents.”
In conjunction to his gift, he and his siblings made the bright, colorful placemats (pictured below) for our seniors.
Thank you to Elijah and his family for their big hearts and generosity.
