"Having done Meals on Wheels for 6 years in the Chicago area, I decided to resume this worth while service after moving to Plano and have another 6 years under my belt. Committing to one hour once a month is time well spent. Who knows, someday I too may need this service."  -Volunteer Quote

Our volunteer opportunities include:

  • Delivering meals through the Meals on Wheels program
  • Administrative support in our office
  • Shelf stable holiday and bad weather meals meal assembly
  • Special events
  • Holiday Programs

We could not deliver meals throughout Collin County without our volunteers. The volunteers not only bring a hot, nutritious lunch, but also connect with otherwise isolated seniors. Whether you have a lot of time or just a little, we can use your talents. Volunteers come from all walks of life – men, women, young and old, professionals, homemakers with children, and retirees – anyone who has a genuine interest in helping our valued elderly neighbors.

Did You Know?

  • We need a minimum of 75 volunteers each day to deliver over 800 meals daily.
  • Volunteers deliver meals to homebound seniors in cities throughout Collin County, so you could give back to the community in which you live.
  • There are one-time volunteer opportunities available around the holidays. Create Fall Harvest Boxes and/or become a Secret Santa.
  • As of 2016, MOWCC has 1217 Volunteers
  • In-Kind Volunteer Hours for 2016 total 14,269 hours
